HUBBARD'S CUPBOARD FUND
FOR VINEYARD ANIMALS VETERINARY CARE

This fund, created by Eleanor Hubbard in 2018, is dedicated to the care of those animals primarily adopted through the Animal Shelter of Martha's Vineyard by members of the island community and in need of veterinary intervention.

Without such veterinary care these animals might not survive or could face removal from their homes and surrender to a shelter. No matter how advanced a disability, sickness, or age, and regardless of an animal's terminal illness, if the owner/family seeks veterinary assistance this fund was created to provide that option.

Each year the Fund will honor a person of particular devotion to the island's community and animal shelters.

Since just shy of two years old Katharine Schneider was a rescuer! With her marriage in September to Hubbard White she became a charter member of Hubbard’s Cupboard. When first getting to know the Vineyard, one of Katharine’s three rescued cats-with- ‘challenges’, Teddy (shown above) was found limping through traffic at Five Corners. After learning that pet rabbits, adopted during the Pandemic, were being abandoned in an and around Boston, Katharine generously fostered & soon adopted two into her   menagerie of fortunate foundlings. A passionate horsewoman, Katharine’s goal is to own a shelter for animals of all shapes and sizes. We are delighted to welcome the 2023 Hubbard’s Cupboard Honoree, Katharine Schneider White!
