The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard would like the community to know that we are here for you in these uncertain times. Should you need any supplies for your pets, we can offer food, bedding, crates or answers to your questions. We have donated dog/cat food to the Island Food Pantry as well. Please do not hesitate to contact us. Our number is 508-627-8662.
If there is an animal in need of surrendering, understand that our mission is to keep the animal in as close to a home situation as possible. They will have their own comfortable bed, healthy food and classical music playing or television to watch with someone in their company all day. In most surrender cases, the animal is matched to a new home before they stay a night.
The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard prides itself on its ability to provide a one on one relationship and a no stress environment for our animals.
We love what we do and feel lucky to be able to offer all our programs to the community.

This fund, created by Eleanor Hubbard in 2018, is dedicated to the care of those animals primarily adopted through the Animal Shelter of Martha's Vineyard by members of the island community and in need of veterinary intervention.
Without such veterinary care these animals might not survive or could face removal from their homes and surrender to a shelter. No matter how advanced a disability, sickness, or age, and regardless of an animal's terminal illness, if the owner/family seeks veterinary assistance this fund was created to provide that option.
Donate directly to the Suzie Fund, which covers animals in the Shelter with major medical issues. Ray and Teddie Ellis adopted Suzie from the Animal Shelter. She had major medical problems and was infested with fleas. This fund was established specifically to help pay the bills for an animal with significant medical issues.

MAC, Inc. is a statewide, not-for-profit organization formed in February of 2000 to promote collaboration among those who work in animal welfare, both professionals and volunteers.
By joining together, MAC members have created strong alliances and developed new programs and initiatives. Ever increasing numbers of Massachusetts animals have benefited from this cooperation.
